About their split, a source previously told The Mirror: "Steve isn’t ready to settle down and commit to just one lady while Fearne had only recently come out of a long-term relationship when they met, and didn’t want to rush into anything serious either.
“Neither party has any regrets, as it was great while it lasted. They had a lot of fun but if Fearne is going to be with someone there has got to be more to it than this."
Fearne was briefly linked to Ian Watkins, the former lead singer of the band Lostprophets, in 2004-2005, though their relationship appears to have been short-lived and rumored rather than widely confirmed.
Watkins later became infamous for his conviction on multiple child abuse charges in 2013, which shocked the music world and led to the disbandment of Lostprophets. Cotton has not commented publicly on her past association with Watkins since his crimes came to light.
