Thursday night (Nov. 14), GQ challenged some of the industry’s flyest figures to put on their best denim and boots for the American Rodeo-themed 2024 Men Of The Year party. Taking place in Los Angeles at the Chateau Marmont, the magazine’s global editorial director Will Welch was joined by co-hosts, this year’s honorees Dwayne Johnson, John Mulaney, and Pharrell Williams, for the celebratory affair.

Shaboozey, also recognized by the platform, performed during the event which was live-streamed for the first time.

“It starts with country dominance,” Welch explained of the theme to Variety as he continued to note the crossover into country by pop star Post Malone, Pharrell Williams’ cowboy-inspired Louis Vuitton collection, and Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter.

“Once we had that idea click in, the rest was easy,” he added. “When you hear ‘American rodeo,’ you’re like, ‘I want to go to that.’ Dressing up in a rodeo western way, everybody could do it. It’s incredible how many people tonight are on theme.”

Guests at the 29th annual event include YG, Babyface, Katt Williams, Big Sean, Coco Jones, Quavo, Offset, John David Washington, Naomi Osaka, Cordae, and more.
