Sheridan Smith has encountered a rocky love life over the years, from a relationship with her 'Gavin and Stacey' co-star to Hollyoaks actor and called-off engagement.

Adding to the heartache, one of the actress's former boyfriend has tragically passed away at the age of 39 - someone she dated just a few years ago. Sheridan briefly dated renowned stylist to the stars Graham Nation in 2017, with the actress once referring to him as her 'dream man.'

Following their split, a source claimed that Sheridan was left heartbroken after Graham moved out of her London home. A source told The Sun at the time: "There is no animosity and Graham is still there for her, but she feels quite lonely at the moment."

Tragically, on Sunday, 23 February, it was confirmed that Graham had suddenly died at the age of 39. Graham, who was a stylist to the likes of Demi Moore, Venus Williams and Catherine O'Hara, is reported to have died at a gym in Los Angeles. It's said he died on Friday, February 14, with the case pending an additional investigation. James Corden

Sheridan and James Corden had a two-year relationship after meeting on the set of the TV series Fat Friends in 2002, before playing siblings Smithy and Rudi in 'Gavin and Stacey'. Their relationship began in 2007 but hit the rocks and they split just a year later in 2008.

Both were single for a short period until James disclosed in 2009 that they'd rekindled their romance, describing Sheridan as the "love of his life" and not dismissing marriage prospects. Talking to The Mirror at the time, he excitedly shared, "Yes, Sheridan and I are back together and it's going brilliantly, I couldn't be happier. I want to marry my girl."

It seems the romance between the 'Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps' actress and her beau wasn't destined for a fairy-tale ending. Marriage was apparently not on her agenda, as she later admitted: "I was a lot wilder back then. I wasn't someone who was in a frame of mind of settling down." By 2009, they had parted ways, leaving James "heartbroken".

In a heartfelt interview with The Times, he opened up: "I was heartbroken and lost. I'd had a relationship with Sheridan which was heartbreaking, when you think something might work and it doesn't. And I felt a bit lost." He continued, revealing the emotional turmoil of the time: "And feeling lost, and feeling heartbroken, and feeling single for the first time in your adult life, at the very moment when you become a little bit famous, is quite a potent mix."

Ross McCall

In 2010, Sheridan was romantically involved with Scottish actor Ross McCall, after a decade-long friendship. But after a brief romance, they parted ways later that year, with the actress putting the reason down to the strain of a long-distance relationship.

Greg Wood

Sheridan had a fling with Hollyoaks star Greg Wood, famed for his role as Trevor Royle. They made their relationship public in January 2015 and notably got matching tattoos. Sheridan's read 'Gregory's Girl', while Greg chose 'My Sheri Amour' above an 'all in' adorned heart playing card. But by July 2015, Sheridan was using Twitter to call out Greg after being "hurt by an idiot boy yet again".

Jamie Horn

In 2018, Sheridan found a connection with Jamie Horn after swiping right with the insurance broker on the dating app Tinder. Jamie soon proposed, and in October 2019, the actress announced she was pregnant, initially posting an enigmatic photo with the caption: "Last time I'll look like this for a while..."

Later, she confirmed the delightful news with a snapshot of her stage pass, adding the note: "About to set sail for 4 days, wish me luck with my morning sickness". Sheridan announced the birth of their son Billy on her Instagram, sharing an adorable snap of her new arrival on Saturday, 9 May 2020.

The star, who previously shared her fears about childbirth, couldn't help but express her joy and wrote: "Our little man has arrived! We are both completely overwhelmed with love," accompanied by a blue heart emoji. However, in a sad turn of events in August 2021, Sheridan and her fiancé Jamie split up and called off their engagement.

They released a joint statement at the time sharing their heartbreak, which read: "It is with great sadness that we have decided to have some time apart. The pair emphasised their commitment to co-parenting, adding: "We both remain completely committed to raising our beautiful boy Billy together."

Alex Lawler

Following her relationship with Jamie, Sheridan announced in 2021 that she was dating actor Alex Lawler. Interestingly, Sheridan and Alex were an item 20 years ago and went on to rekindle their romance. The doting mum posted a video with her son together on Instagram, along with a photo of Alex, confirming their blossoming love story. In the caption, she couldn't resist expressing her joy at reconnecting with her old flame.

She penned: "So pleased this fitty I dated back in the day (20 years ago) is back in my life! Life works in mysterious ways" she penned alongside a smiling face emoji and prince emoji. She concluded with: "miss you Mr L," followed by a red heart emoji. In January 2022, it was announced that the couple had parted ways.

Dave 'Rocky' Ryan

The actress went on to date Dave 'Rocky' Ryan, a former boxer and brother to her friend Sandy Ryan, in 2023. She often shared cosied-up snaps with Dave as they enjoyed getaways and a date nights, one showed them dressed to the nines with their arms around each other.

Towards the end of 2024, it was reported that the pair had called it quits, with their relationship reportedly "fizzled out". A source told The Sun at the time: "Sheridan decided to end things with Dave a few weeks ago after their romance fizzled out." Revealing that the split was amicable, the source added: "Thankfully her stage show has kept her busy and there is no bad blood after they ended on good terms."
