The iPhone 17 series will make a debut this like the iPhone 16 series did in 2024. And the leaks related to the same have been doing the rounds of the internet for a long time now. And latest in the line are the leaks related to the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. According to a post shared on Weibo by Digital Chat Station, both the mentioned devices will most probably bring a 45MP telephoto shooter with 5X optical zoom which is going to be a considerable upgrade over the 12MP sensor we saw on the iPhone 16 Pro lineup.

The post by Digital Chat Stations revealed a lot more about the optics of the upcoming devices. It has also been mentioned that the iPhone 17 Pro variants will get a 24MP front snapper to capture selfies and attend video calls. The same was confirmed previously by TF securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who also said that the iPhone 17 models will possibly bring the 24MP selfie shooters.

In November 2024, another report related to the iPhones suggested that Apple is working to keep the tetraprism telephoto shooter which brings support for 5x optical zoom exclusively for the Pro variants. Apart from that, it has also been said that the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air is going to be the first-ever non-flagship devices from the brand to house telephoto shooters.

And yes, one of the biggest highlights of the launch is going to be the iPhone 17 Air. This is going to be a slim offering with a decent processor along with heavy specifications. However, the Arch nemesis of Apple, Samsung, is already on the way to bringing the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim which is going to stand as a direct competitor against the Apple iPhone 17 Slim. It will be interesting to see which of the two devices will be able to have a greater impact on the audiences.
