The Netflix star keeps his personal life out of the public eye, so it’s unclear what his relationship status actually is. On top of that, he’s not active on social media and only has a handful of posts on his Instagram account.

“I had a private account at one point. Now I don’t know how to get in,” he told Cosmopolitan in October 2024. “[Social media is] good for keeping up with people…but I have a hard time on it.”

ICYMI, Drew is best known for his role as Rafe Cameron in Netflix’s wildly popular Outer Banks and, most recently, as Eugene Allerton in Queer, his first major movie. He’s also had smaller roles in projects such as Ozark, Love, Simon, and The Hate U Give.

“This is an entirely different project that will have an audience of its own,” he said of Queer to Cosmo. “Of course, I would love the Outer Banks community to see other things that I’m in and everyone to love it, but that’s not something I can control. If you try to think about it like, “The things that I want to do in the future have to align with how I’m seen by certain audiences,” you can corner yourself in. Of course, it’s in the back of your mind. There’s some concern over it. But you have to treat every project as its own island.”

The Queer actor has been linked to several high-profile actresses over the years, but his rumored romance with Odessa A’Zion is perhaps the most talked-about. In 2022, they co-starred in Hulu’s Hellraiser, playing love interests Trevor and Riley. Their on-screen chemistry and easygoing dynamic at red carpet events have fueled speculation that they might be more than just co-stars. TikTok is filled with fan videos dissecting their interactions, with fans eager to uncover the true nature of their relationship.

Adding fuel to the flame, Odessa and Drew frequently appear on each other’s Instagram grids. In November, 2022, she shared a series of snaps for his birthday, alongside a heartfelt caption: “Happy birthday Joseph. Keep eating that pb n j once a day, it’s really good for ur bones.
