It's no secret that there's a strict rule that bans I'm a Celeb stars from bringing make-up into the jungle, but this year, ITV watchers are questioning whether that rule has been dropped. Why? it appears some of the cast are using eye and brow make-up.
The Mirror reported earlier this week that stars like Coleen Rooney, Tulisa Contostavlos and Jane Moore have turned to semi-permanent make-up like microblading and lipstick tattooing to give their features some definition without technically breaking the no cosmetics rule. But what we want to know now is whether or not jungle newcomer Maura Higgins booked in for similar tattoo treatments before she joined the 2024 cast.
Sporting a fresh face and seemingly un-made-up eyes, former Love Island star Maura's perfectly defined brows had us staring at our screen to decipher whether they're the result of microblading, genetics or something else. In a bid to find out for sure, we asked her go-to make-up artist Krystal Dawn to let us in on her brow secrets.
"They are just tinted with a brow tint, that’s all," she explains. "I don’t do the tint myself, but it really helps with makeup application if my clients tint their brows as it means the brows are a better shape (as it tints even the lightest unseen hairs) and also means I use less product."
She continues: "I use minimal brow products on Maura, literally just a brow gel to hold in place."

ITV)How to tint your brows at home
You can head to any good salon and book in for a brow tint, where the treatment will set you back upwards of £25, but it's actually a relatively simple treatment that you can do at home with the right products, says our Mirror head of beauty, Zoe.
Eylure Dybrow, £8 in various shades
This is my personal go-to kit because I've been using it for years and the medium brown shade, when left on for around 15 minutes, gives my light and sparse brows just enough definition without making them appear blocky.
There's a lot of room for error with this product too– sometimes I've forgotten about it and left it on too long and when wiped off, they still look great. I promise you it's foolproof.
Maybelline Tattoo Brow Long-Lasting Gel Tint, £12.99 in various shades
If you're not sure about a semi-permanent tint kit, this peel-off brow liquid is for you. It lasts up to three days before fading, so it's perfect for doing before an event. Simply define and colour-in your brows with the sticky liquid, let it dry for 20 minutes, then peel off to reveal
L'Oréal Paris Brow Color Semi-Permanent Eyebrow Tint, £9.29 in various shades
I tried this new launch earlier in the week and I was very impressed. With up to ten uses per box, it works out at a cost of under £1 per application (a whopping £24 saving on salon costs!) and the results are pretty professional. Extra points go to it for giving a range of brunette shade options that aren't just 'dark' or 'light'.

ITV)Best brow gels to hold your hairs in place
Make like Maura and set your freshly tinted brows in shape with a strong-hold gel like these...
REFT Brow Sculpt, £14.40
This is the go-to brow gel for beauty experts and celebs alike. Thanks to it's incredible, strong-hold formula, it holds even the most unruly and thick brows in place all day. I promise you won't regret adding this to your basket.
Got2b Glued Brow Gel, £5.50
A bargain alternative to REFY's buy is this. It's a clear gel with very good staying power, offering a laminated-like look in just a swipe. It was actually formulated by the brand after they found out how many people were using the original hair gel to glue their brows down.
MAC Pro Locked Brow Gel, £24
MAC has just launched revamped its brow products and launched Pro Locked Brow Gel, priced at £24 and available to buy from MAC's own website as well as retailers such as LookFantastic and Boots. MAC says this clear gel gives 'a strong yet flexible hold with all-day wear and a flake-free finish' – and I agree.
