OpenAI is setting up the stage to bring its latest flagship Artificial Intelligence model named Orion. In a report by The Verge, it has been said that Orion possesses 100x capabilities as compared to GPT-4 its predecessor. Now, there are some changes in the distribution of the model that we will get to see most probably at the time of the launch. One of the most prominent one is that Open is not planning to launch the Orion model via ChatGPT.
Instead, the AI model will be rolled out first for the companies that are working in association with Open AI. As the same report said, the AI model will be available for companies to use and create their own features and products based on it. High chances are that Orion will be hosted on Microsoft Azure. While OpenAI will be pitching (and is already seeing) the Orion AI model as the successor of GPT 4, it is yet to be confirmed if the device will be called GPT-5 or not.
Orion codename and release window
Considering the previous trends, OpenAI codenamed the o1 model as Strawberry, and the decoy was used for the model until it launched as o1 in the global market. Now, we can expect something similar in the case of the Orion AI model as its current title could be a codename. As of now, nothing has been confirmed regarding the release date of the upcoming AI model by OpenAI.

And the timing seems perfect as OpenAI just bagged a $6.6 billion funding and is looking to become a profit-making entity. We expect to know more about the upcoming AI model by OpenAI as soon as the launch inches closer.
