Isla Fisher says she has sworn off wearing high heels after a recent experience on set.
The Aussie star has recently been on set for the upcoming films Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy and Now You See Me 3.
It was on the set of the latter where Fisher sustained an injury that led her to call it quits on the fashion accessory.

"I am actually injured still from Now You See Me 3," Fisher, who recently partnered with Air New Zealand, tells 9honey Celebrity exclusively.
"But not from the magic, not from anything except my character wore these very high heels."

"And I don't want to age myself out but to be honest my feet just couldn't handle it. And yeah, [it was] pretty painful," she declares.
The beloved Aussie export is known for her glam looks – often completing her ensembles with a pair of stunning heels on the red carpet or during press tours.
She took to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party this year in a pair of black strappy heels and, more recently, took to the Zimmerman fashion show at Paris Fashion Week in a pair of black stilettos.

But Fisher says those fashion choices may be coming to an end. After putting her feet through the wringer for her recent acting role, she has declared that her heels will go into retirement.
"I have decided I'm never wearing heels again," Fisher says.
"I'm not doing it any more."

Despite the aesthetics, Fisher feels the downsides of wearing heels are no longer worth it.
"I actually just decided there's no reason for me to ever wear a heel again. It shortens your calves, it damages your spine or something apparently," she says.
And now at 48 years old, Fisher has begun to notice the pain that comes with wearing heels.

"And also just it actually hurts once you get over 40," she adds.
Whether Fisher has actually sworn off the heels for good is yet to be seen.
If she does so, perhaps the heels will be reserved for special occasions only from now on.

Fisher's high heel revelation came about after discussing her Now You See Me 3 castmate's injury.
Jesse Eisenberg injured his hand while filming one of the action scenes of the upcoming film and while she wasn't there when it happened, Fisher saw his battered hand.
"I was a bit worried about it because I thought it was maybe broken," Fisher explains.

"But then when he finally took [the cast] off, it seemed to work fine which I was a bit confused about," she says.
"I wasn't there the day he did that. I think it was the fight in one of the magic rooms at the castle."
As it happens, Eisenberg had torn a tendon in his finger on set while filming in a "huge" rotating hallway.

"I went to the hospital in Budapest and then I went to the hospital in Abu Dhabi," he told Variety about the experience.
"Not because they have like a great, I mean, they do have a good hospital, but because we were filming there."Variety about the experience.
Thankfully Fisher's injuries didn't land her in hospital but anyone who's spent an extended period of time in a pair of high heels will surely understand her decision.
