The newest faces in the I'm A Celebrity jungle have been caught out red-handed as a feud seems to be breaking out in the main camp.
It follows as the latest arrivals to the series, Reverend Richard Coles and Love Island's Maura Higgins, settle into life away from the original campmates in the junkyard. However, they soon realise that life is more comfortable among the scrap, with a comfy bed and luxury bath revealed at the touch of a button.
The duo had to fake that their living conditions were harsher than those of their fellow celebrities, even persuading them to give up a bed and some of their food. Radio 1 presenter Dean McCullough was also roped into the ruse, and if they maintained it, the entire camp would be rewarded with a junk food feast.
However, shortly after Dean moved into his new environment, doubts began. Coleen Rooney was the first to express her suspicions, showing that her Wagatha Christie moment wasn't a one-off, reports OK!.
When the main camp discovered that the whole group would be heading to the trial that day to face off with the junkyard residents, they were thrilled at the prospect of a potential showdown. GK Barry exclaimed: "I can't wait to see those lying little thieves!"
As the main camp journeyed to the trial clearing, journalist Jane Moore concocted a strategy to ensure the trio of Maura, Dean, and Richard were caught red-handed: "So what we should do is say nothing to them. Don't let them know that we know."
When questioned about their gripes in the Jungle Junkyard, they initially played along, with Maura remarking, "We're really hungry." Richard shared tales of struggle and hardship, while Dean confessed, "I slept on the floor last night, so my back is absolutely broke."
Alan quipped: "They're not getting a job in Corrie, I can tell you that! " Ant and Dec then coaxed Coleen to scrutinise further, prompting her suspicion: "I'm not convinced that you are actually in the junkyard." Upon which Dean revealed: "Wagatha Christie strikes again!"
Richard agreed, stating: "Circumstances in the junkyard are not quite as tough as we'd led you to believe." Then, the admissions poured out. Dean and Maura disclosed that they had enjoyed a bubble bath, whereas Melvin learned that he had suffered a challenge while Maura and Richard relished cheese sandwiches and tea.
Stunned, Melvin confronted Maura: "But I heard you crying!" Maura retorted: "I'm a good actress." With the ruse exposed, the group discovered it was all part of a hidden challenge to earn treats for a junk food feast. To clinch extra goodies, Richard and Maura were tasked with the Terrifying Teddy Bear's Picnic - the season's inaugural eating trial.
Overcome by the moment, Maura appealed to Richard, saying: "Father, can we say a prayer, please?"
As the full cast reunited at the main camp, an apparent rift between the contestants emerged. Adding one new bed and hammock for the newcomers led to McFly's Danny Jones seizing the opportunity to transition from his previous sleeping arrangement.
Jane remarked: "It's Lord of The Flies, if you're newcomers you get the worst beds." Maura, on the other hand, expressed compassion for Richard: "I just feel bad for him, he's not got a good back."
Alan concurred, adding: "I don't think he should be in a hammock to be honest, I said before, he's 62 and he might want to but I don't think he should be in a hammock." However, the camp leader has no authority to relinquish his bed.
Oti conveyed to Jane her willingness to exchange with Richard and vacate her camp bed. Jane responded by gesturing towards Dean, suggesting: "He should go in it." Could this signify mounting pressures within the camp?
I'm A Celebrity continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
