Nicola Wheeler speaks about real-life connection with co-starLorraine Kelly quickly addressed viewers after letting a swear word slip during the live broadcast. The presenter was back on screen with Monday's instalment of the popular ITV chat show, delving into the day's headline stories.
However, one particular segment captured everyone's attention. Emmerdale's own Nicola Wheeler joined the host to discuss her characters latest dramatic story arc. Conversation shifted to the gruelling weather conditions they endure while filming on location in the fictional village.
Kicking off the discussion, Nicola remarked: "There are long horrible cold days when you are out in the village all day and it's raining and windy so you've got to have that sense of humour with each other because words take up a lot of your life so if you're not having fun it makes life miserable so our aim is to have fun."
Reflecting on her past visit to Emmerdale, Lorraine reminisced: "I do remember being there when we did the show live from Emmerdale and the last time we did it the school pack was lovely and cosy with lots of fire."
The atmosphere lightened even as Lorraine accidentally cursed, saying: "But we have been outside and it was boll******."
Nicola, unable to contain her laughter, chimed in: "The village is like a wind tunnel because there can be a mild breeze around the village but down that main street it's like blowing a gale every time and I'm always taken where my hair is blowing in the wind."
Later, Lorraine swiftly offered her apologies for the on-air gaffe, telling viewers: "Now earlier on when I was talking to Nicola I said a bad word and I didn't know it was a bad word because in Scotland we say that word all the time."
She continued with a light-hearted tone: "I want to say it again but I can't, I said a word for cold, which you all know but anyway..."
Audience members quickly picked up on Lorraine's mistake, flooding social media with their thoughts, reports the Mirror.
