James May fumes ‘there’s no coming back from this’ as fans rush to support him

James May fumed: “I don’t think there’s any coming back from this” on X as fans flocked to his side to support him.

The former Top Gear star, who recently filmed the last ever episode of The Grand Tour alongside Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond, took to social media to issue a personal update with his 3.2million folllowers.

He fumed: “A Woman has just thrown away yesterday’s left-over gravy. I was going to have it with some equally left-over roasties. I don’t think there’s any coming back from this.”

Thankfully fans were on hand to cheer up the petrolhead, with one snapping a picture of his own dinner and writing: “Sending you some sausage gravy and biscuits for your loss!” Someone else said: “I know that I can never really know what you’re going through, but a woman once washed the chorizo fat out of a pan that I was going to fry an egg in.”

To that, James responded: “Good God. The humanity!”

He confirmed that the ‘woman’ in question was “special” to him in a very rare personal update, confirming he’d capitalised the W for one reason: “Because she is special, but also because here she is representative of womanhood’s misunderstanding of the basic needs of men: tools, booze, left-overs. Everything else is Hers.”

James tends to keep his personal life out of the spotlight, though he has been in a relationship with his partner Sarah Frater for nearly 25 years. The pair have never married, but have dated since 2000.

James has never had kids, confessing to the Driven podcast: “ think it was just a result of life, let’s put that down to being a late developer. I’ve got nieces and nephews of many ages. I spend a quite lot of time working with people in their twenties.

“That’s the nature of TV, it has a big influx of people of that age who disperse and move on to other things, it’s all very fluid.”

James and Sarah live together in Hammersmith, London – building their own forever home where he’s content to “enjoy the rest of his life”.
