Dawson’s Creek actor James Van Der Beek is selling memorabilia to help pay for expensive cancer treatments.
The actor hopped on Instagram recently to share pictures of jerseys for Jonathan “Mox” Moxon, the character he played in the 1999 film Varsity Blues.
In the caption, the actor wrote, “100% of my net proceeds will go to families recovering from the financial burden of cancer (including my own)," with an angel emoji.
The jerseys are available in two options: unsigned for $40 and autographed for $80.
Van Der Beek shared his cancer diagnosis to People last month. “I have colorectal cancer, I’ve been privately dealing with this diagnosis and have been taking steps to resolve it, with the support of my incredible family,” he said at the time. “There’s reason for optimism, and I’m feeling good.”
He told the outlet that he’s been prioritizing spending time with his wife and their six children.
Van Der Beek is most known for playing Dawson Leery in the teen series Dawson’s Creek, which ran from 1998 to 2003. The actor also held notable roles in Don't Trust the B---- In Apartment 23, CSI: Cyber, and Rose.
Van Der Beek so far hasn't slowed down on acting. He recently appearing in an episode of Walker, and he's set to star in the upcoming film, Sidelined: The QB and Me.
