Jamie Foxx enjoys horseback riding with new perspective on life a year after near-death experience

Jamie Foxx is making the most of life a year after surviving a near-death medical emergency that left him unable to walk an in a come for 20 days.

The 56-year-old posted the picture as he made his way through a picturesque beach on horseback, all with the orange sky setting in the background.

"The sunset looks different to me now got a ride it out... What had happened was," he captioned the photo.

One fan responded saying that they were happy to see Foxx doing well, to which the actor replied with three praying emojis as a sign of gratitude.

Foxx has a new perspective on life

The post comes days after Foxx revealed the new mantra he is living by as he puts the near-death experience behind him.

"This is my mantra after surviving something that I thought I would never go through. My good friend James [V. Barnett], who also happens to be my manager, gave me this phrase. I live by it now," Foxx stated.

"When you come through the darkness, the light looks brighter. And while I'm at it, I want to say thank you to everyone that sent up a prayer. I needed it."

Foxx also found time to promote his first comedy special in 22 years, 'Netflix's Jamie Foxx: What Happened Was...' which premiers on December 10.

Jamie said that his soul was "filled with nothing but pure joy" after he "had an opportunity to tell my side of the story" over the three-night event, which was held from October 3-5 in Atlanta, Georgia.

"I haven't been on stage in 18 years but I needed the stage and I needed an audience that was made up of nothing but pure love and that's what you were," Foxx said on October 13.

"When people ask me is this a stand-up comedy show I say, 'No, it's an artistic explanation of something that went terribly wrong'."
