Jedidiah Duggar and his wife, Katey Duggar (née Nakatsu), announced that they have officially expanded their family by welcoming twin daughters.
“We are thrilled to share the joyous news of the arrival of our twin daughters, Elsie Kate and Emma Kate!” Jed, 26, and Katey, 26, told People on Thursday, January 9. “Elsie was born on January 8, 2025, at 2:06 p.m. weighing 6 pounds, 14 ounces, and Emma followed at 2:13 p.m. weighing 7 pounds, 2 ounces.”
The couple added, “Both girls are healthy, and beautiful, and have completely captured our hearts.”
Jed and Katey went on to say that they were “so grateful to God for entrusting [them] with these precious girls.”
“Our hearts are full, and we’re thankful for the love and support we’ve received during this joyful time,” they concluded.
The couple, who tied the knot in 2021, previously welcomed son Truett in 2022, followed by daughter Nora in 2023.
The arrival of Elsie and Emma comes six months after they announced that Katey was pregnant with twins in July 2024. “We have exciting news to share — we’re expecting! But we were not expecting this,” they told People at the time. “We are overjoyed to announce that we have twin girls on the way!”
Jed added that he was excited to become a father to twins, as he is a twin himself with brother Jeremiah Duggar. “As a twin myself, I’m especially thrilled to welcome these double blessings into our family!” the former TLC personality shared. “The bond between twins is truly special, and I can’t wait to see them grow and experience life together.”
The couple also admitted that Truett and Nora had “no idea just how much their lives are about to change with the arrival of their new sisters.” However, Jed and Katey said they were “excited to watch their bond as siblings grow and to see the fun and love multiply in our home.”
“This new chapter will bring endless joy and shared adventures for our whole family!” Jed and Katey added in their statement.
While many Duggars have stepped out of the spotlight following Counting On’s cancelation in 2021, Jed and Katey have kept fans up to date about their daily lives via social media.
In December 2024, the couple posed for a family photo with Truett and Nora as they celebrated Christmas. “Last Christmas as a family of 4,” they captioned the sweet snapshot of the family posing in front of a tree, which was posted on Instagram.
Meanwhile, they also revealed that they were getting the twins’ nursery ready in September 2024. “We officially began preparing the twin girls’ room! So in love with this wallpaper from @wall.blush,” the duo captioned a video via Instagram that gave a glimpse into the room. “It was easy to apply and is absolutely gorgeous to look at.”
Shortly after Jed and Katey uploaded the video, several fans rushed to the comments section to compliment their work on the nursery. “That’s gorgeous. Can’t wait to see what else happens in there,” one person wrote, and another chimed in, “It’s really pretty Jed! Congratulations!”
