Jenna Dewan’s fiancé had a curiously timed social media post the same day it was revealed that Dewan’s ex-husband, Channing Tatum, was breaking up with his girlfriend of three years, Zoë Kravitz.
However, the publicist for Steve Kazee insisted the cheeky Instagram story from the 49-year-old Broadway actor wasn’t a comment on the split at all.
The post from Kazee, who has been Dewan’s fiancé since 2020 and is the father of two of her three kids, was technically only one word ― “ha” ― repeated over and over.
Considering the timing, and the fact that Dewan and Tatum split up six years ago but only finalized their divorce last month, many people assumed Kazee’s story was in reference to Tatum and Kravitz split.
That’s in part because the divorce between Dewan and Tatum had become heated. In April, Dewan’s attorney accused Tatum of a making a “calculated” effort to “dilute and conceal” the licensing income generated by his “Magic Mike” franchise.
After the divorce was finalized in September, Dewan posted an Instagram carousel of photos from her life with Kazee and their kids, with the caption, “Thank you universe.”
But Kazee’s publicist, Jeffrey Chassen, insists the Instagram story was not connected to Tatum or Kravitz at all.
“It was in reference to a meme he posted right after, in which Jenna was tagged, about not watering the plants in the house,” Chassen told HuffPost.

Chassen elaborated further to Page Six, saying that Kazee is “notorious” for not remembering to water the plants at the home he shares with Dewan.
Both People and TMZ reported that Tatum and Kravitz were calling it quits on Tuesday, the same day it was announced they would be appearing in an alien invasion comedy together.
No details on the exact reason for the split, but the breakup comes just a few months after the premiere of “Blink Twice,” a thriller starring the couple that Kravitz directed.
