Jenna Jameson’s estranged wife Jessica Lawless’ divorce petition was thrown out of court due to her not being able to serve the ex-adult film star, In Touch can exclusively report.
According to court documents obtained by In Touch, a Las Vegas judge ordered Jessica’s case to be dismissed on December 11.
The court noted that Jessica was granted an extension on serving Jenna, 50, with the legal paperwork but had failed to do so.
The dismissal, signed by the judge, noted, “Failure to take action for more than 3 months on a case that has been pending for more than 6 months. Cases dismissed under this rule may be reactivated at the written request of a party or party’s attorney if the request is filed within 30 days of service of written notice of entry of the dismissal.”
As In Touch first reported, Jessica told the court in July that she could not locate Jenna to serve her with the court documents.
Jessica claimed that Jenna would not provide her address and had no work address. She asked for permission to serve her ex via email, text or social media.
The court granted Jessica’s request to extend the service date to November 16 but did not allow her to serve via alternative methods. After the November 16 deadline passed, the court took action and dismissed the case.
For her part, Jessica appears to be in a new relationship. She posted a photo with a blonde woman captioned, “The 10th marked three months that I’ve spent falling in love with this angel,” in October
As In Touch previously reported, Jessica filed a complaint for annulment on April 16. She listed the date of marriage as June 9, 2023.
In her filing, Jessica claimed her consent to the marriage was obtained by fraud because Jenna “advised that she was financially independent, debt free, and would contribute to the financial responsibility of the household. She didn’t disclose that she had over $500,000 in tax debt prior to the marriage.”
In addition, she said Jenna promised to remain sober but claimed she did not keep her promise. “She’s told me she’d never drink again, and I can see at this point that she is in fact sober today and plans to remain that way. I just wanted her to be safe & healthy,” she said on social media.
Jenna responded to Jessica’s claims to Entertainment Tonight. She told the outlet, “I wish Jessi all the best.”
She added, “As someone who works hard on her sobriety, she hopes that anyone struggling with addiction or trying to stay sober has access to an empathic and loving support system.”
“Research has shown that empathy and understanding are better responses to addiction than judgement, shaming, and moralizing,” the entertainer added.
“Expressing your unconditional love and support may be one of the kindest things you can do. Let them know that you are there for them – relapse or not, ten days sober or 200,” Jenna continued.
She ended, “Unfortunately, in the past, due to cultural attitudes surrounding addiction, tactics such as shaming, humiliating, shouting and ‘attack therapy’ were commonplace. Currently, rehab centers recognize that this approach would constitute malpractice and would have no place in the delicate process of treatment. It is much more likely that clients will experience greater success when empathy is placed at the forefront of the client care process.”
