For Halloween this year, Jennifer Garner, 52, paid tribute to her character from the beloved 2004 film “13 Going on 30.”
“Happy 20th Halloween, Jenna Rink. 💕,” Garner wrote in an Instagram post, re-creating the rom-com’s iconic getting ready scene for the fictional Poise magazine’s big bash.
In the clip, which features Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” — the same from the movie soundtrack — in the background, the actor first carefully applied lipgloss and retinol.
Donning the sparkly butterfly necklace from the film, Garner goes in with face powder and eyeliner, comically wearing her chunky glasses while lining her lids.
Next, Garner lifts a pair of spandex from her drawer, giving them a weird, confused look.
The actor then strolls back into her bathroom in her character’s famous colorful striped Versace dress, twirling around in front of the mirror. It’s unclear if it’s the same designer look from the 2004 film or a replica.
Instead of the strappy blue pumps she donned in the memorable “Thriller” dancing scene, Garner paired the mini with raspberry-colored sneakers and white striped tube socks.
The outfit tweak is most likely hinting at Garner’s age.
“Please tell me there are Razzles in your purse. #theyreacandyandagum,” said one user, referring to Jenna’s favorite candy in the film.
Another wrote, “As soon as I saw the necklace, I knew. ♥️ #jennarink.”
The film celebrated its 20th anniversary in April, with the cast, including Garner, Mark Ruffalo, and Judy Greer, reuniting for the special occasion.
On April 23, Garner shared a clip of the trio back together via video chat, reflecting on the movie.
“#13GoingOn30. Twenty years. We are three Boomers braving zoom—because we want to thank you. 👴👵👵 To every person who has loved this movie along with us: Thank You. We see you, we appreciate you and we love you back. Forever thirty, flirty and thriving! 💕,” the actor captioned the post.
