Jennifer Lawrence, known for leading box office hits like The Hunger Games franchise and starring in critical darlings like Mother! and American Hustle, is at the apex of her career. Previously, the actor won a coveted Academy Award for her performance opposite Bradley Cooper in 2012’s Silver Linings Playbook and was recently nominated for a 2024 Golden Globe Award for her remarkable performance in 2023’s No Hard Feelings.

Since 2019, she has been married to art gallery director Cooke Maroney. In 2022, the couple welcomed their first child together and are now expecting their second! But before having her happy growing family, Lawrence dated a string of famous men and enjoyed high-profile romances with them.

Here’s everything you need to know about Maroney and Lawrence’s past partners.

Cooke Maroney, 40

Maroney, the director of the art gallery Gladstone 64, and Lawrence first sparked romance rumors in June 2018 and were engaged by February 2019. Lawrence and Maroney married in a lavish (but private) ceremony in October 2019 in Rhode Island. About 150 guests attended the event at the Belcourt of Newport venue, including Kris Jenner, Emma Stone, and Cameron Diaz, among others.

Lawrence spoke out in December of 2021 about the simple joys of her union with the gallerist.  “I really enjoy going to the grocery store with him,” she told Vanity Fair for a cover story. “I don’t know why but it fills me with a lot of joy. I think maybe because it’s almost a metaphor for marriage. ‘Okay, we’ve got this list. These are the things we need. Let’s work together and get this done.’ And I always get one of the cooking magazines, like 15 Minute Healthy Meals, and he always gives me a look like, ‘You’re not going to use that. When are you going to make that?’ And I say, ‘Yes, I am. Tuesday!’ And he’s always right, and I never do.”

The extremely private couple is rarely seen making public appearances, but in February 2022, they welcomed their first child, son Cy. In 2022, Lawrence spoke with Vogue about how motherhood had changed her life. “I mean the euphoria of Cy is just— Jesus, it’s impossible,” Lawrence said. “I always tell him, I love you so much it’s impossible.”

On Sunday, Oct. 20, news broke via a now-removed Vogue Instagram post that the couple is expecting their second baby. The announcement came hours after Lawrence was photographed showcasing a baby bump in a white T-shirt paired with black pants while out to dinner in Los Angeles.

Darren Aronofsky, 55

Lawrence met director Darren Aronofsky when she starred in his controversial and brilliant film Mother!. The two began dating in September shortly after filming, and their relationship continued to blossom despite their 22-year age difference. For the most part, they kept the relationship out of the public eye, only posing together once during the film’s New York City premiere.

“We had energy. I had energy for him. I don’t know how he felt about me,” Lawrence shared in an interview with Vogue, adding, “I’ve been in relationships before where I am just confused. And I’m never confused with him.”

The two parted ways quietly just over a year after they started dating, in November 2017.

Chris Martin, 47

Prior to Aronofsky, the Red Sparrow actress shared a mature relationship with Coldplay’s Chris Martin. Though there was an age difference of 14 years, it wasn’t quite as dramatic as the gap with the director. However, the relationship with the singer brought a blended dynamic, as he shares two children, Apple and Moses, with his ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow.

They first began dating in August 2014, shortly after his split with the other Oscar-winning actress, but Lawrence and Martin parted ways just a few months later in October. By December, they were back together, spotted having dinner. The couple made several appearances, including a high-profile outing at Harry Styles‘ massive 21st birthday party in L.A. in January 2015, but ultimately, it wasn’t meant to be.

The two split for good in August 2015. A source told PEOPLE at the time that Lawrence was “tired” of Martin being “so noncommittal” about the relationship.

Nicholas Hoult, 34

Lawrence and fellow actor Nicholas Hoult met on the set of X-Men: First Class in 2010, and the young professionals hit it off quickly. While they did part ways momentarily in 2013, they soon got back together, and their relationship developed into a lengthy five-year romance.

In a May 2014 interview, Lawrence opened up about why the relationship worked for them. “When we’re busy, we agree to mutually ignore each other,” she confessed to Marie Claire via CBS News. “Not completely, but neither of us gets mad when the other doesn’t text back or call. Life’s super-busy. Obviously you know what they’re doing, and you trust them. We’re so young that it would almost be like if we lived in the same city, what would happen? We’d be living together. At least this way, he’s in the same boat as I am: We can go out, have our own lives, and know that we have each other.”

They ultimately broke things off in August 2014 but reunited to co-star in the X-Men franchise, appearing in Apocalypse in 2016 and Dark Phoenix in 2019.
