Actress and singing star Jennifer Lopez has cancelled all her upcoming media appearances following the devastating fires in Los Angeles.
Jennifer was due to promote her new movie, Unstoppable, which launches on Prime Video on Thursday 16 January, but has cancelled all her chat show and promotional appearances so she can focus on helping out the community in LA. The premiere of the movie, which was due to be held at Hollywood’s famous TCL Chinese Theatre on Tuesday, was also cancelled.
“It's important to her to focus on supporting the community of Los Angeles during this very difficult time,” a source told People. Jennifer had been due to appear on shows including the Today show, The View, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and morning show Live With Kelly and Mark to promote her new film, which was co-produced by her ex-husband, Ben Affleck.

Anthony is played by Jharrel Jerome, while Jennifer plays Anthony’s single mother Judy. The movie also stars Boardwalk Empire’s Bobby Cannavale and Avengers star Don Cheadle.
Jennifer posted information earlier this week on Insta Stories for people impacted by the Los Angeles fires, sharing “resources to help those impacted”, including details of shelter locations and animal care. A source also told Page Six that the actress has been “in regular contact” with her former husband Ben, who has reportedly had to evacuate his Pacific Palisades home. Jennifer, 55, “has been checking in on Ben throughout this whole ordeal” and “let him know she’s there for him and the kids,” the source said, referring to Ben’s three children Violet, Seraphina and Samuel, whom he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner.

Paris Hilton, Anthony Hopkins and Mel Gibson are among the stars to have had their homes destroyed. Paris Hilton has since set up an emergency fund with an initial personal donation of £82,000 to aid families affected by the fires.
She said: "While I’ve lost my Malibu home, my thoughts are with the countless families who have lost so much more – their homes, cherished keepsakes, the communities they loved, and their sense of stability. As a mum, I can’t imagine the pain and fear of not having a safe place for your babies so I’m launching an emergency fund through my nonprofit 11:11 Media Impact to support displaced families with young children."
There are now evacuation alerts for areas that affect more than 100,000 residents, while more than 40,000 students at the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA) have been asked to be ready to evacuate if necessary. The University told the students: "This is NOT an evacuation alert. An evacuation warning has been issued to a zone adjacent to UCLA due to the Palisades fire. We are asking Bruins on campus to remain vigilant and be ready to evacuate, should the alert be extended to our campus."
