Jennifer Lopez may be a Hollywood starlet, but she still takes criticism from her teenage kids.
On Monday, January 6, Lopez, 55, spoke to E! about her new film Unstoppable and revealed that her 16-year-old twins, Max and Emme, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony, are "brutally honest" regarding her work.
"I think kids are like kind of wrapped up in their own lives a bit, but if you ask them, they will give you their honest opinion about everything, you know what I mean? They're ready to, like, be brutally honest with you at times," the "Let's Get Loud" singer told the outlet.
Lopez explained how it's helpful to hear from the two teens as it allows her to understand what the younger generation thinks.
"I like my kids to see my work and know what I'm doing, and I'll share certain things with them and say, 'What do you think of this?' or, 'What do you think of that?' And they always have an interesting perspective because they're from a different generation," she remarked.
Regardless of the feedback, the Monster-in-Law actress loves getting their opinions and only sees it as a positive.
"It's really always additive as far as I'm concerned," she quipped. "I always have such joy from hearing their thoughts and what they think about things."
Lopez attended the Wicked premiere in Los Angeles, California, with Emme in November. The mother-daughter duo clearly shares a tight bond as Emme also performed alongside her mom at the 2020 Super Bowl LIV Pepsi halftime show and the LA Dodgers' Blue Diamond Gala in 2022.
The "Jenny From the Block" singer was also the stepmother to ex-husband Ben Affleck's children whom he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner: Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12.
In August 2024, Lopez filed for divorce from the 52-year-old actor. TMZ reported on Monday that the former couple had officially finalized their divorce and will formally part ways at the end of February. The couple did not have a prenup and decided to keep what they each acquired during the marriage for themselves.
