Jennifer Lopez won’t be alone at Christmas amid her ongoing divorce from Ben Affleck. The singer revealed she plans to have her nearest and dearest with her for the holiday season.
“It was a pretty intense year for me and I’m most looking forward to spending time with my kids and my family coming out from the East Coast,” Jennifer, 55, told People in an interview published on Wednesday, November 6.
“The holidays are such a special time for us, and they’ve always been since I was a little girl. And I really look forward to those moments when I can be with my sisters and just relax and have fun and create new memories,” the Wedding Planner star continued.
Jennifer has two younger sisters, Lynda and Leslie. The “On the Floor” singer is especially tight with Lynda, once revealing, “We’ve just always kind of been best friends.”
“We don’t get to see each other all year, so we kind of catch up on what everybody’s doing and how life is. It’s just a beautiful time. I really enjoy it,” J. Lo said of the holidays, adding how it’s a time to “slow down” and “enjoy” being together.
In addition to her siblings and her beloved mom, Guadalupe Rodríguez, Jennifer will be joined by her twins, Max and Emme, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
“I love all of the decorations and the hot chocolate and the music and the food, and I’m one of those people who really tries to make it out of a storybook for my kids with all of those things. I’m a sucker for the holidays,” she told the outlet.
It appears Jennifer will be hosting her family’s holiday festivities at the former Beverly Hills marital home she shared with Ben, 52. The Bronx, New York, native shared a series of photos to Instagram on Monday, November 4, that showed her in the mansion’s doorway, which featured Halloween decorations.
Ben and Jennifer purchased the 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom mansion in May 2023, following their July 2022 elopement in Las Vegas. In Touch exclusively reported on May 15 that the Gone Girl star moved out and that a split was looming.
“The writing is on the wall – it’s over,” the insider dished. “They’re headed for a divorce – and for once, [Ben’s] not to blame!”
The source added, “They’ll never stop loving each other, but she can’t control him, and he can’t change her. There’s no way it could have lasted.”
Ben and Jennifer publicly listed the mansion for sale on July 11 for $68 million. It has yet to sell. The Argo star snapped up a $20 million bachelor pad in Pacific Palisades, California, in July.
Jennifer filed for divorce from Ben on August 20, which fell on the two-year anniversary of their opulent Georgia wedding. She listed their date of separation as April 26, and filed pro per, meaning without an attorney.
With J. Lo’s family coming to Los Angeles for the holidays, it’s unclear whether or not there will be any celebrating with Ben’s three children, who he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner. The Unstoppable actress grew extremely close to her estranged husband’s kids during their two-year marriage.
Lynda, 53, showed how tight she still was with Ben’s daughter Violet in a series of Instagram photos she shared on Sunday, November 3. They were taken during a trip to New Haven, Connecticut, where Violet, 18, is a freshman at Yale University.
“New Haven with my favorite Yalie!” she wrote in the caption of a selfie, which was taken by a smiling Violet with Lynda lovingly placing her hands on the coed’s shoulders from behind.
