Josh Allen is playing better than ever in his seventh season with the Buffalo Bills — and he credits fiancée Hailee Steinfeld for his success.
On Wednesday, the quarterback told the Associated Press that Steinfeld has played a “huge part” in his MVP-level of play this year thanks to her “morale” and “support” off the field.
“When I get home, she’s my biggest fan, my biggest supporter,” he told the outlet. “She’s just the best.”
A happy home life has helped the athlete, 28, focus on his love for the game, reflected in the Bills’ 11-3 record and fifth straight AFC East title.
“I’m just playing this game, the same game that I’ve been playing since I was a little kid. And that’s kind of what it comes down to,” Allen told the outlet. “What I get to do is really fun, and I want to have as much fun as possible.”
The NFL star was first linked to the “True Grit” actress, also 28, in May 2023 after they were spotted on a dinner date in New York City.
Although they have kept their relationship out of the public eye for the most part, Steinfeld has been a staple in the stands at Highmark Stadium and occasionally shared tidbits about their relationship in her newsletter, Beau Society.
While Allen has put up impressive numbers the whole year, his stats started to soar after proposing to Steinfeld on Nov. 22 during the Bills’ bye week.
In the three games since, Allen has tallied a total of 1,020 yards with 13 total touchdowns and no interceptions — making him the favorite to win NFL MVP in February.
Yet Allen isn’t the only Bills player to notice the connection between Steinfeld and his success.
Left tackle Dion Dawkins told the outlet that “there’s something about” Allen’s romance with the actress that has trickled down into his performance on the field.
“When you’re in this world that we’re in, and a lot of people pulling at you and a lot of sources of ups and downs of a roller coaster, and you have that one stable person that you can rely on and go home and hug and get a laugh no matter what, I think that’s dope,” Dawkins told AP. “And that’s what I think is going on.”

Dawkins dittoed the sentiment while speaking to another group of reporters after practice.
“Josh is having fun [and] we’re having fun watching him,” Dawkins said in a video shared to X.
“I don’t want to keep bringing energy to it, but I’m telling you, when you have a strong female behind you, and when you’re in the right mental space … there’s something about it.”
While little is known about Steinfeld’s dating history, Allen dated influencer Brittany Williams for a decade until their split in early 2023.
