Juelz Santana has opened up about the latest feud between Cam'ron and Jim Jones.
On the latest episode of The Art of Dialogue, the Harlem native was asked about his Diplomats brethren who have been at odds in the new year. Killa Cam and Capo traded heated words with one another over their friendship earlier this month, and Santana claimed he is not happy about the beef.
"It's not something I condone," said Santana. "I'm not rooting for or sitting here and watching and happy that it's going on. I'm definitely not at all. Both of them is still my brothers at the end of the day so you know with that being said I definitely don't like what's going on. I never liked it. Nobody wins when the family feuds, no matter what we going through behind the scenes."
Santana continued, "As men, things happen, and social media is so powerful and so strong now that sometimes things spill over, and you have situations that you have now."
The youngest Dipset member went on to explain what he walked into when he joined the collective and questioned some of Cam's previous statements about Jones, such as questioning if he was actually from the Bronx. According to Santana, Jones and Cam were extremely close, contrary to the latter's statement that they weren't that tight.
"Cam and Jim history go back before me," said Santana. "When I met Cam and Jim, they were super close. So I honestly don't really know Jim being from The Bronx and all that, you know what I'm saying? When I met them, they was in 5H, which was Jim's apartment, and I guess that time was after all the stuff Cam had said already with the Children of the Corn and Jim [inviting them over]."
He added, "When I got there, Cam and Jim was super tight. Mase wasn't even in the picture. I don't know Mase like that. Everytime I see Mase, it's been a mutual respect there [...] When I met Cam and Jim, they were already tight and locked in. The Diplomats was already a name they had. I don't sit there and claim I made the Dips; that's not something I'm doing. I made Dipset, though."
Santana met Cam'ron through his cousin in 1998 and later joined The Diplomats full-time alongside Jones and Freekey Zekey. As a member of the group, Santana became a fan favorite with standout performances on Cam'ron's "Welcome to New York City,” "Hey Ma," and "Oh Boy." The group's first album, Diplomatic Immunity, was released in 2003 and debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200.
