Vice President Kamala Harris has called President-elect Donald Trump to concede the 2024 presidential race, according to an email sent to campaign staff.
"Just a few moments ago, the Vice President connected with President Trump to concede the race," the email from campaign chief Jen O'Malley Dillon said.
Dillion said losing was "unfathomably painful" and it will "take a long time to process," but that Harris she would work with President Joe Biden "to ensure a peaceful transfer of power, unlike what we saw in 2020."
"It is hard. This will take a long time to process. But the work of protecting America from the impacts of a Trump Presidency starts now," the email added.
The vice president is set to deliver a concession speech at Howard University at 4.00pm ET.
