Kanye West has sent fans spiraling online after his latest move on social media involving Taylor Swift
There is certainly some history when it comes to Kanye West and Taylor Swift, and that is putting it mildly.
While Swift hasn’t really spoken much about it publicly, West is rarely one to hold his tongue.
In fact, it was part of the reason the feud between him and Swift started in the first place.
Back in 2009, West made it very clear that he didn’t think Swift deserved the Best Female Video award at the VMAs, as he got up on the stage and interrupted her acceptance speech, claiming Beyoncé should have won the award.

After Beyoncé later won the award for Video of the Year, she proceeded to invite Swift up onto the stage to join her so that she could conclude her speech that West interrupted.
Tensions heightened following the release of West's 'Famous' in 2016, which included the line: "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that b*tch famous."
Swift said in a 2023 Time interview that the ensuing fallout, in which West and then-wife Kim Kardashian claimed she had given Ye permission for the line and she insisted she hadn't, felt like a 'career death'.
In a new stunt, West has made it clear that Taylor Swift is the only artist he is following on Instagram, highlighting it on his story.
On Twitter, West made extra sure everybody knew it by sharing a Complex post about it.
This garnered quite a mixed response from his followers however.
One user wrote: “Claiming u ‘made her famous’ yet using her as ur only way to stay relevant."
Another said: “Ye following Taylor—this timeline is officially wild. The internet about to analyze every pixel of this move. Brace yourselves, the discourse is about to be legendary.”
A rather optimistic user wrote: “Need a collab album!!”

With a fourth person adding: “You are obsessed with Taylor Swift to this day because you know she is a bigger and more relevant artist than you will ever be.”
While there might be absolutely nothing behind this move, West has recently been speaking his mind on his Twitter feed.
In other posts today (February 2) he has written: “F*** reading and anyone who can do it.”
And another post: “Damn. Just warming up. I’m rich. I can say whatever the f*** I want. I do this for the broke me. Shout out to broke me this ones for you.”
And a classic Kanye move: “The world is so lucky to have me.”
So maybe the feud is brewing beneath the surface or maybe it is just Kanye being Kanye.
