Kate Beckinsale has penned a heartbreaking note amid LA’s Palisades Fire. The horrifying event has claimed the homes and livelihoods of many. Los Angeles County remains under red flag warnings as thousands of residents have been forced to evacuate the region. The scorching blaze has destroyed numerous structures and reduced several once-wealthy communities to rubble. Meanwhile, Beckinsale is among the celebrities who have expressed her heartbreak over the ordeal of the residents.

Kate Beckinsale took to Instagram and penned a devastating note describing the residents’ ordeal amid the LA fire. The actor recalled “praying” after “hearing the winds” the night before. She shared that she “knew it would be bad” as they have had to evacuate several times before while living there. However, Beckinsale noted, “But the shock at the whole of the Palisades being destroyed is unthinkably horrific.”

Beckinsale continued to share she lived there with her daughter, Lily Mo Sheen, for most of her childhood. The actor heartbreakingly added, “Most of her childhood is gone,” including her primary school, as well as, the shops and restaurants they used to go to. Beckinsale noted, “The Pacific Palisades is a community very unusual to find in Los Angeles, heavy on families with young children and pets.”

The “Underworld” star continued to express her devastation for all those affected by the wildfires, including the people and pets. Beckinsale wrote, “My heart is breaking for the families who have lost everything, and the people and their animals, not to mention the horses and all the wild animals, people’s businesses and livelihoods.” The “Van Helsing” actor added, “This is just like hell.”

Beckinsale also added people in need of shelter can reach out to her for support. In the Instagram carousel, she also shared information about centers across the region that are providing evacuation shelters. According to the Los Angeles Times, more than 100,000 residents have received evacuation orders due to the ravaging wildfires.
