Kate Middleton Is ‘Doing Very Well’ After Completing Chemotherapy, Has ‘Different Perspective’

Princess Kate Middleton is working on her fitness and feeling better after she completed chemotherapy amid her cancer battle, according to a royal expert.

“From what I understand, Catherine is doing very well. She is back training at the gym and doing all the things she wanted to do,” royal expert Robert Jobson told Hello! Magazine. “I do think that we will start to see a lot more of her, and that she will carry out engagements as well as continuing to work behind the scenes.”

While Kate, 42, is expected to take on more royal responsibilities after completing chemo, Jobson told the outlet that he believes she might limit the types of events she attends in the future.

“Rather than travel all over the country all the time, like she used to, I think she will concentrate on more impactful events,” he said. “If she has her way, she will come back in stages and do things that are important to her.”

Kate now “has a different perspective” following her cancer battle, according to Jobson.

“Her focus will be on her family, while still managing to do the key events,” Jobson – who wrote Catherine: The Princess of Wales – continued. “I think [Prince William] is very keen that she does stage a comeback, but I don’t think that necessarily signals that we’re going to get a big tranche of engagements, one after the other.”

After staying out of the spotlight for months, Kate announced that she had been diagnosed with cancer in March.

She continued to focus on her health and remained out of the spotlight, though revealed that she completed chemotherapy in September.

“As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” Kate said in a video, which featured sweet moments with William, 42, and their kids Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. “The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown. The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you.”

She continued, “With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything. This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved.”

Despite completing chemotherapy, Kate said that her “path to healing and full recovery is long.”

“I must continue to take each day as it comes. I am, however, looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can,” she continued. “Despite all that has gone before, I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life.”
