Keke Palmer and SZA have to hustle and scheme to avoid eviction in their upcoming comedy film. Produced by Issa Rae through Hoorae Media, One Of Them Days is written by Syreeta Singleton and directed by Lawrence Lamont.
In the trailer, the two leading ladies are revealed as broke besties living in Los Angeles, with aspirations beyond the paycheck-to-paycheck lifestyle. Due in theaters on Jan. 24, 2025, the film also features Janelle James, Lil Rel Howery, Katt Williams, Joshua Neal, Aziza Scott, Gabrielle Dennis, DomiNque Perry, Patrick Cage, and Amin Joseph.
The clip shows Keke Palmer asking, “How are we gonna make $1,500 by 6, not to mention I got the interview at 4?” as viewers get a preview of her and SZA’s comedic efforts to get the cash by any means necessary. One Of Them Nights is the R&B singer’s feature film acting debut.
The film was first announced in April of this year with limited details. Confirming the theatrical release date last month, One Of Them Days is the product of CoCre lab at Sony Pictures, a collaborative effort between ColorCreative and Sony Pictures to empower emerging, diverse screenwriters to develop and write their first studio feature based on original ideas, per Variety.
The official description reads as follows:
“Best friends and roommates Dreux (Keke Palmer) and Alyssa (SZA) are about to have One of Them Days. When they discover Alyssa’s boyfriend has blown their rent money, the duo finds themselves going to extremes in a comical race against the clock to avoid eviction and keep their friendship intact.“
