Keke Palmer Recalled One Of Her White “Scream Queens” Costars Making A “Weighted” Racially-Charged Remark Towards Her, And Yikes

If you cast your mind back to 2015, you might remember the satirical black comedy/slasher series Scream Queens airing on Fox.

The series ultimately ended after just over a year on air.

Fast forward to today, and Keke, who played Zayday Williams, has opened up about her negative experiences shooting the show in her forthcoming memoir.

Keke’s book, titled Master of Me: The Secret to Controlling Your Narrative, is set to be released next week, on Nov. 19. Per The Hollywood Reporter, the actor will get candid about “everything from her struggles with boundaries to unconditional love, forgiveness, and worthiness.”

According to LA Times, who obtained an exclusive excerpt, Keke claims in her memoir that a white actor, whom she refers to by the pseudonym “Brenda,” made a racially-charged remark towards her on set.

Keke purportedly notes that after the mystery actor in question got upset over a clash with another colleague, she suggested that they calm down and that everyone “respect each other.”

“Brenda” allegedly replied, “Keke, literally, just don’t. Who do you think you are? Martin fucking Luther King?”

Speaking to LA Times, Keke noted that she chose not to name the actor because she didn’t want to make the moment about her.

“It was such a weighted thing that she said, but I didn’t allow that weight to be projected on me, because I know who I am. I’m not no victim,” she said.

“That’s not my storyline, sweetie. I don’t care what her ass said. If I allow what she said to cripple me, then she would,” she added.

Keke’s memoir hits shelves on Nov. 19.
