Kelly Clarkson Looks Totally Unrecognizable With Spooky Halloween Costume

In the spirit of all things spooky and spectacular, Kelly Clarkson took Halloween to an otherworldly level, donning a Beetlejuice costume that had fans doing double-takes.

For the Thursday, October 31 episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the 42-year-old singer-turned-talk-show-host rocked the black-and-white pinstripe suit and wild green hair, channeling "The Ghost with the Most" — aka Betelgeuse.

People gave fans a first glimpse of Clarkson's dramatic makeover, showcasing her decked out in the iconic character's ghoulish style, right down to the rotten teeth and dark, circled eyes. The transformation was so spot on that her house band reacted with a mix of shock and amusement, reportedly telling her, "You look gross," as they laughed at the uncanny resemblance.

The "Because Of You" singer's entire glam squad pitched in to create the look, with stylist Micaela Erlanger and dresser Arleisha Randle tackling the wardrobe, while Emmy-nominated makeup artist Gloria Elias-Foeillet crafted the ghostly complexion. Special effects makeup was the handiwork of Emmy winner Louie Zakarian, a veteran from Saturday Night Live, and Betelgeuse's signature hairdo was styled by Corey Morris with SNL wigmaker Brittany Hartman.

True to form, Clarkson kicked off the episode with a rendition of "Banana Boat (Day-O)," the Harry Belafonte tune that's become synonymous with the film's quirky horror. Guests Reba McEntire and her beau, actor Rex Linn, appeared in costume too. The 69-year-old country legend dressed up as Delia Deetz, who was played by Catherine O'Hara in the original Tim Burton film, while Linn, 67, joined in the fun as Danny DeVito's ghostly janitor character in this year's sequel, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.

After People took to Instagram with a sneak peek of Clarkson's costume, it didn't take long for fans to enter the chat.

"This may be the best thing I've ever seen! 🤯 Bravo, @kellyclarkson!! 👏🏼👏🏼," cheered another.

"@reba is literally the most perfect Delia," pointed out a third.
