Kerry Katona has said she wants to find love again as she calls for ITV to begin a Celebrity version of hit dating show Love Island for single stars over 40. The mum-of-five split from her fiance Ryan Mahoney back in November after six years together following a 'breach of trust'.

Writing in her weekly column, Kerry admitted: "I wish they’d do a celeb over forties Love Island – I’d be on there in a heartbeat. It looks like so much fun. I want to be involved." The original series of Love Island, which kicked off in 2005, did feature celebrities such as Paul Danan and Calum Best and was filmed in Fiji. However, it ended in 2006 and despite stars such as Joey Essex featuring in regular Love Island in recent years, a celebrity version of the show is yet to return.

Mum-of-four Kerry said she was hooked on the current series of All Stars, which last night saw Scott Thomas leave the villa after failing to find romance with Tina Stinnes. Kerry wrote: "I am absolutely loving Love Island: All Stars – I’ve become obsessed. I think I’m a bit in love with Casey. He seems like he’s really grown up since the last time he was on the show and is very cute with Gabby. I think Ekin-Su is trying to stir up the drama too much, but I do really like Curtis".

It seems Kerry is ready to get back on the dating scene after admitting before Christmas that she was 'heartbroken' following her split from Fitness Trainer Ryan. Ahead of spending the 2024 festive period without Ryan, Kerry said, “It’s hard seeing other couples happy and thinking of how I was always with Ryan at Christmas. I’m struggling to feel that spirit. It was six and a half years of my life, and all the memories from that time. I’ve spent some days crying all day because I do really miss him. I’m just heartbroken."

While she hasn't revealed the exact reason behind their decision to part ways, which saw Ryan move out of their shared Cheshire home, Kerry did say that trust was broken between them. Announcing the break-up, she explained: “We are no longer together and it’s been a really tough week – I never in a million years thought this would happen. Without going into too much detail, there’s been a breach of trust between us. I don’t know if we’ll be able to work it out or not, but I do still love him so much.

“I feel like everythi ng has heaped on recently and it’s so much to deal with, I’m really struggling. But I know I can get through it, no matter what happens. I’ve been through break-ups before and come out the other side, so we just need to see what happens.”
