Kerry Katona shares major update on mum after she was rushed to hospital

Former Atomic Kitten star Kerry Katona has been at her mother's side since she was hospitalised and has been updating fans on her condition from inside the medical facility

Kerry Katona has given an update on the health of her mother, Sue, has been in hospital in recent days.

The 44-year-old former Atomic Kitten star has been at Sue's side - and sharing social media posts from the hospital. On Sunday, Kerry took to her socials once again to offer an update on her mother's health - having previously revealed that she had been close to death twice.

Sue herself spoke to the camera while Kerry filmed and gave insight into her health battles. She told viewers: "Well, after everything they told me and me being really really poorly, I died nearly, twice, I have broke me back. And I don't know how, but apparently it was years ago."

Disputing the facts, Kerry insisted "it wasn't years ago" that Sue injured her back, and also said she would be left "frustrated" as she had told her mother to seek medical help in the past. Kerry has been cracking jokes to lift Sue's spirits - but sparked confusion among her fans when she claimed she had broken up with her fitness trainer fiancé Ryan Mahoney, 36.

The Whole Again singer updated fans on social media on Friday telling them that her mother was getting treatment in hospital. When Danielle Brown responded to the post to ask: "So much love to you both, and is the Dr single?" the singer-turned OnlyFans star cheekily responded back to the fan, writing: "No, but I am!"

Fans were then concerned that Kerry had split from her fiancé after six years of romance. But the singer returned to social media the following day to set the record straight and insist she was only joking. In a lengthy post, Kerry wrote: "This is not me confirming that I have split with @ryanmahoney_7 at all!!! This was me, my mum and my best friend having a laugh about the Doctor trying to cheer my mother up!!!" She then shared even more details about her humourous comment in a post that was on her grid.

The star continued: "So I see the papers have taken a joke between me, my mum and best friend about a dr!!!! Ffs I even put a laughing face!!!! My mum has the funniest sense of humour and we was all just playing along with her! Never thought journalist will be scrolling through 1500 comments and run a headline that I have split with @ryanmahoney_7 all because we were trying to cheer my mum up! I’ve confirmed nothing!!!!!! Everyone else could see that this was light humour!!!!"

Fans were quick to back up Kerry - with some encouraging her to make other comments to generate false headlines. One fan commented: "I think it's funny I'd be making fake news on the daily" alongside a string of crying-with-laughter emojis.
