Craig Conover is being called out by his Southern Charm co-stars for his lack of social participation as of late. Rather than go out with Austen Kroll and Shep Rose, Craig chooses to stay in the oasis he calls home. Now, Austen is confronting Craig.
The Southern Charm veteran will be noticeably absent from Patricia Altschul’s birthday party on the next episode. And according to the upcoming conversation between Craig and Austen, he’s been missing out on a lot more than just a society party.
Craig Conover “felt weird” about being excluded from Patricia’s Altschul’s event
In a teaser clip for the upcoming episode of Southern Charm, released by Decider, Austen is sitting poolside at Craig’s home. The Trop Hop Beer’s founder said he “felt weird” about Craig’s absence from the dinner. He responded to say that he was not invited.
“It felt weird not being invited. I don’t get my feelings hurt too often. Did Patricia say why I wasn’t invited?” the Sewing Down South founder shared.
Austen answered, “Yeah. It was a combination of thinking you were out of town and being like, ‘I haven’t really talked to Craig much.’ Then the conversation switched to your absence.”
For Craig, it was a “crazy” conversation. Though he is based in Charleston, the Southern Charm veteran is often traveling for work. When he is home, Craig has been choosing to limit his partying and would rather a cozy night in. His Southern Charm bestie feels the change is in Craig is drastic.
Craig Conover is focused on “work and making money”
“I miss my buddy and that’s where I’m coming to you from,” Austen said. “We talk and do this but if I’m going to lunch, you’re not on my phone call list. If I’m going to get a beer, you’re not on my phone call list. Because your answer is normally, ‘I’m gardening.’”
“That’s a you thing! I’m not a f*cking mind reader. I didn’t know this sh*t was going on. I thought we were good. Why don’t we set up a weekly teatime?” Craig retorted.
In the teaser clip, Austen revealed that he attempted a weekly golf outing with Craig, but the home goods entrepreneur cancelled to work on his upcoming gardening line.
“It was work! We have a gardening line coming out,” Craig said, getting defensive.
But he then added that “working and making money” is what makes him “happy now.” Craig is certainly motivated to expand his empire. He’s been praised for maturity, growth, and sobriety, focusing on self-improvement instead of partying with the Southern Charm lads.
