Khloé Kardashian closed the door on dating since her 2022 split from cheating baby daddy Tristan Thompson – but loved ones including her family are piling on the pressure for her to show some confidence and finally break free from her lonely rut, a source exclusively tells In Touch.
“Khloé keeps insisting that she’s happy with the way her life is,” the insider says. “She says when the time is right she’ll meet someone naturally but a lot of people in her life think she’s just got such bad PTSD from how terribly Tristan treated her that she’s shutting herself off from finding anyone new out of fear she’ll get hurt again.”
The reality star, 40, first met Tristan, 33, in 2016 after they were set up on a blind date by mutual friend Brandon Jennings. The couple share two children: a daughter, True, 6, and a son born in 2022 via surrogate.
Their relationship has been hell for Khloé over the years, but friends and family are growing increasingly concerned that The Kardashians star is holding on to hope her NBA ex beau is actually the one.
A second source previously confirmed to In Touch the Good American founder “has turned down so many guys … she just can’t connect with anyone the way she does with Tristan.”
“At the end of the day, she has zero romance in her life and it’s really unhealthy because whether she admits it or not, she’s obviously holding out for Tristan.”
After multiple instances of infidelity on Tristan’s part, the two split for the first time in 2019. There were rumors that they had reunited in late 2021, but a paternity suit Tristan faced that alleged he impregnated Maralee Nichols around the time he was together with Khloé put a nail in the coffin of their relationship. However, in August 2022 they welcomed a child via surrogate, meaning conception was likely before the Maralee Nichols scandal broke.
With Tristan clearly on the outs to everyone but the youngest Kardashian sister, Khloé refusing to move on is troubling for her family, with the first source continuing: “This has been an ongoing worry for her family because they don’t think it’s healthy. Six months ago, she promised Kim [Kardashian] that she was going to get out there with her and go on dates and meet guys but then anytime an opportunity came up, Khloé shut it down.”
While Kim, 43, frets over her sister, Khloé “claims she’s totally fine being celibate,” the source says, noting they feel she’s “wasting the best years of her life and missing out on a lot of happiness, everyone in her life is giving her a hard time about it.”
“The big worry is that she’s secretly holding out hope that things will work out with Tristan, which she swears isn’t the case, but her actions tell a different story. It’s sad to see her stuck in this rut and her sisters are all saying they’re going to find a way to snap her out of it.”
