Sweethearts is coming to Max soon, and the rom-com includes a stacked cast of fresh young talent!
From Kiernan Shipka and Nico Hiraga playing the main two characters, to TikTok comedian Caleb Hearon and Jake Bongiovi, this rom-com’s cast is honestly such a welcome surprise. Keep reading for a guide to the entire cast:
The film, which premieres on November 28, follows Kiernan and Nico as two college freshmen who make a pact to break up with their respective high school sweethearts over Thanksgiving break — a.k.a. “turkey drop” them. This missions leads them to a chaotic hometown reunion where their codependent friendship is put to the test.
This has been a busy year for Kiernan, as she starred in Twisters, Longlegs, and The Last Showgirl. As for Nico, the actor has become a leading man in the rom-com genre, and is best known for his roles in Booksmart, Moxie, Rosaline and Love In Taipei.
Sweethearts marks one of Jake’s first major acting roles, alongside his debut in Rockbottom on Prime Video, released earlier this year. As the son of rock legend Jon Bon Jovi and husband of Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown, Jake seems to be paving his own way in the entertainment industry.
“Sweethearts was my first time ever stepping onto set,” Jake told Flaunt Magazine, describing the transition from an acting class to the real thing. “Right now, like every other actor, everyone is taking a billion auditions, hoping to crack the shell. No matter what level you’re on, everyone is walking up the hill,” he told the outlet.
