Fans of Kim Kardashian, 44, have urged the star to step back from reality TV and instead turn to legal matters.
Luigi Mangione, 26, has been charged with the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson after he was shot dead on December 4. Mangione’s arrest has been met with a controversial response, with some expressing sympathy for the alleged killer. In an unusual twist, many Twitter users have called on Kim to defend the young man - who has been denied bail - with Kanye West ’s ex having been a firm proponent of prison reform and undertaking her own journey to become a lawyer.
“Why it feel like Kim Kardashian gonna represent Luigi in court,” one person predicted on X, with another agreeing “Chile I know Kim Kardashian already on her way to see Luigi,” and a third jokingly asking: “So what next? Kim Kardashian swoops in to defend Luigi Mangione in a court of law?”

Keeping Up with the Kardashians star Kim has been studying to become a lawyer since 2018, and frequently campaigns to have the death sentences of prisoners around the US quashed. In 2021, she took the ‘baby bar’ exam, which is for students who have completed one year of unaccredited law classes, and managed to pass it after failing it three times.
This summer she gave fans an update on her law school journey, and revealed she’s still working to qualify despite rumours she’d given up on the dream. “I can't deal w all these f**king hearsay exceptions! My least favorite subject in law school,” she captioned a snap of her huge stack of notes on her Instagram Story.

I am told he was notorious for making fun of people who didn't pass on their first attempt like he did, but he would have been my biggest cheerleader!” she wrote to her followers.
“Bottom line is don't ever give up even when you are holding on by a thread, you can do it!!!!! Set your mind to it and get it done because it feels soooooo good once you get to the other side!”
Kim’s update may come as a relief to fans who see her backing Luigi Mangione, after a source told The Sun in February that Kim allegedly found studying “tedious” and “never-ending.” They added: “She can’t drop it without looking bad, looking like she couldn’t pass it after all the work and all of her talk about how passionate she was about pushing for prison reform.”
