If, like me, you’ve been hibernating at home in your Oodie and now have to brave the cold and head outside, it can be hard to figure out what to wear. Especially as we’ve reached a New Year and there’s pressure around reinventing yourself and your wardrobe.

Luckily for us, Louise Thompson, one of our favourite fashion inspirations, has just provided us with a cold-weather dressing idea that is equally stylish and practical.

The ex-Made in Chelsea star took to her Instagram story to share the ‘dreamy co-ord’ she wore at the end of last year. To our luck, it is now 50% off in Free People’s January sale. The Cuddle Me Co-Ord is now £89.95, down from £158.

A design feature Louise raved about was the funnel neck, which is perfect for keeping the chill off your neck in cold weather. I know you’re probably thinking, how can a mini skirt set keep you warm? Well, the key to wearing mini skirts in the wintertime is getting yourself a pair of fleece-lined tights to wear underneath.

We think this pair from M&S is a game-changer, as the nude lining helps to give that sheer tight look that can be difficult to get with other lined tights.

Then, on top of the fleece tights, you’ll want to invest in a pair of knee-high (or over-the-knee) boots. You’re guaranteed to stay cosy and warm all day long while not compromising on your style. This hack is a lifesaver if you’re required to wear dresses or skirts to work in the middle of winter.

Another design aspect we love about the co-ord is the on-trend khaki colour. Although red was having its moment last year, olive and khaki greens were also spotted on the A/W runways. The earthy tone is universally flattering and not going anywhere in 2025.

However, if khaki is not really your style, you’ll be pleased to hear that the co-ord is also available in a neutral grey shade and a gorgeous powder blue shade, perfect for transitioning into spring.

Charcoal grey and powder blue versions are also available (

Not convinced to wear a mini skirt in the cold? We’ve found a few knit co-ord alternatives that feature trousers and are guaranteed to keep your legs warm. The first we found was a cosy high-neck jumper and trousers set from River Island. The top is available for £22 here, and the trousers for £26 here. This chic lounge set can be easily dressed up or down, depending on what look you're going for.

We’ve also found a knitted matching set from Pretty Little Thing that features a similar ribbed funnel neck jumper to Louise’s Free People co-ord. The PLT set is also in the sale, with the jumper discounted to £22 here and the matching trousers reduced to £24 here. Alongside the charcoal grey colour, there are also black, cream and camel brown versions up for grabs.
