Kody Brown is saying goodbye to his polygamist past.
In a preview obtained by Us Weekly for the Sunday, January 5, episode of Sister Wives, Kody, 55, asked his current and only wife, Robyn Brown, if she could live with him being a monogamist. Kody was initially in plural marriages with Christine Brown, Janelle Brown, Meri Brown, and Robyn.
"Will you accept me as a monogamist? Is there a problem with that?" the TLC star asked his wife in the clip.
Robyn, 46, teared up and told Kody, "I'm always going to stick with you. I'm just having an identity crisis."
In her confessional, Robyn expressed her love for Kody but admitted she did not have monogamy in mind.
"Yes, I'll always stick with him, and I love him," she stated before noting, "This is not what I wanted for my life."
Robyn told her husband she felt "stuck" but did not elaborate on why.
Kody spiritually married Christine in 1994, and in 2021, she split from him. Kody and Janelle were spiritually married in 1993, and she called it quits with the TV personality in 2022. Meri, with whom Kody legally wed in 1990, ended their union in 2014 so he could marry Robyn and adopt her children from a previous marriage. Meri was the last woman to leave Kody, splitting from him in 2023.
"Whatever I've done in these marriages, they're done. Whatever happened between me and them, I'm done," Kody told Robyn. "I'm done. I'm not gonna fix it with Meri, I'm not gonna try and fix with Janelle anymore she's done with me."
Robyn, seemingly needing more clarity, asked him, "But she [Janelle] told you she's done?" to which Kody responded, "Yes."
Kody and Robyn's lives are dramatically different from when they first married. Christine has found a new partner, marrying David Woolley in 2023 and moving to Utah. Meri also moved to Utah, leaving only Janelle in Arizona. Throughout the season, the tension between Kody and his ex-wives has been heavily documented, including his strained relationships with some of his 18 kids.
