Kristin Cavallari has broken her silence on her ex-husband Jay Cutler's "very public" DUI arrest.
The Laguna Beach alum, 37, addressed the dramatic "incident" at the top of the most recent episode of her Let's Be Honest podcast, which dropped on Tuesday, October 22 — five days after the 41-year-old NFL star's heavily-publicized car crash, subsequent arrest and additional charges.
"Really quickly, just before we get into the episode, I wanted to hop on here and just let you guys know that this episode was recorded right before a very public incident happened last week with my ex-husband," Cavallari — who shares three children with Cutler — told listeners before launching into the "Breaking Up Sucks" episode.
"Just keep that in mind as you're listening," she added.
The Hills alum further noted that she "will not be commenting on what happened," though she does "of course wish Jay nothing but the best and I do hope that he gets the help that he needs."
Cavallari concluded: "But that's the only thing that I will be saying about it publicly."
Per TMZ, the former Chicago Bears quarterback made headlines last week when he was arrested for a DUi after allegedly rear-ending a car in Franklin, Tennessee, just outside Nashville. The outlet also noted that Cutler was additionally charged with failure to exercise due care, violation of implied consent law and possession of a handgun while under the influence.
Additionally, Cutler allegedly tried to pay off the driver of the other vehicle to not involve the police, per legal documents obtained by Us Weekly, which also state that the athlete also allegedly attempted to flee the scene.
After spending several hours behind bars at Nashville's Williamson County Jail, Cutler was released on bond.
Cavallari and Cutler — who are the parents of sons Camden, 12, and Jaxon, 10, and daughter Saylor, 8 — began dating in 2010 and quickly became engaged in April 2011. Three months later, however, they broke it off — only to get back together by the end of the year.
The pair wed in 2013, several months after welcoming son Camden in August 2012. They documented their marriage — and all its ups and downs — on Cavallari's reality show, Very Cavallari. The couple split for good in 2020.
