Lala Kent reacted to the news of Jessica Walter‘s new podcast while appearing on Amazon Live on Tuesday.

After the 34-year-old Vanderpump Rules alum’s former assistant dropped the debut episode of The Date My: Podcast on Monday, amid which she claimed to have been “heartbroken” by her exit from Lala’s company and podcast, Give Them Lala, and said she felt like she “had no other option” than to leave, Lala offered her thoughts on their falling out.

“I did not know that she dropped her podcast and I have not listened,” Lala began amid her stream on Amazon Live. “[And] I don’t know how she is describing me.”

Although Lala and Jessica have only spoken in vague terms in regard to what exactly led to Jessica’s departure from Lala’s company, Jessica said on her podcast that she was unhappy with the way something was handled.

“Basically what happened is I said how I felt about the way some things were being handled, and the response I got to that was, in my opinion, not good — the responses I got. It wasn’t, honestly, I was taken aback,” Jessica shared on The Date My: Podcast. “I was heartbroken at those responses.”

Meanwhile, on Amazon Live, Lala said she and Jessica “both know how it went down” before suggesting that Jessica chose to move on from her brand because she was unfulfilled by the role she was in.

“I will always have so much love for her. She was a huge part of my life and we did become very close, but at the end of the day, she was my employee first and foremost and she felt that she no longer got what she needed out of this job,” Lala stated. “And I encourage anybody that looks at their life, and says, ‘This piece is not working,’ or, ‘I’m not fulfilled anymore,’ make a change. We all have that right, and it sounds like her podcast came out, and I wish it nothing but all the success in the world, and I truly mean that.”

But on the debut episode of her podcast, Jessica confirmed she was “not at all expecting to leave” the company.

“That wasn’t the plan … I thought I’d be at that last job forever,” she shared.
