Saturday (February 22) marks National Margarita Day and whilst it might be easy to share something obvious such as an unusual take on the cocktail, instead we're looking back at another kind of mix-up.
Back in 2018, Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher guested on hit US chat show, The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon - an occasion in which he recalled a chance meeting with Sir Paul McCartney.
Not many people could leave 52-year old Liam starstruck, but when it comes to a member of a band he idolises in The Beatles, it's perhaps easier for the Rock 'n' Roll Star to get his wires crossed.
In a backstage clip Liam recounted chatting to Macca, 82, at London's Royal Albert Hall in the programme's Tales From Tour segment. "So I go in there and I don't really ask people for autographs, but I thought I'd get it for my kid's headteacher," he quipped.
"I went in there and said, 'Excuse me, Mr Paul McCartney - is there any chance you could just sign this for us? And I'll be out of your hair'."
Adopting Paul's Liverpudlian accent, Liam explained that he was then told to "come over" before being asked how he was. "I said, 'Yeah, I'm good - just go on and sign there," Liam continued. "Good gig and all that stuff."
According to the Oasis star, Paul then asked: "Why are you always rushing around? Do you like margaritas?" Liam added: "I said, 'I do yeah, but I've just eaten before I came out'. He went, 'No, the bloody drink, you d***head!' - and that's my tale from the touring side of business!"
Responding to the clip, one YouTube user declared: "This man needs his own reality TV show. Comedy genius GOLD." A second commented: "Amazing story. Paul is one of Liam's musical heroes, and it's so funny that Paul offered him and drink, and Liam thought it was food."
A third added: "I literally lol'd at this. No matter how you feel about Oasis as a band, you have to admit Liam and Noel give hilarious interviews." Whilst a fourth admitted: "Would love to have been a fly on the wall when that happened."
According to Patron Tequila, National Margarita Day was founded by American commercial real estate agent Todd McCalla around 2008. The website adds: "The day was created simply to share his love of margaritas, and to promote a more sophisticated appreciation of the beverage."
