The hometown of the late One Direction singer Liam Payne has seen its collective heart memorial moved as Wolverhampton prepares for Remembrance Sunday this weekend.

The shrine, filled with flowers and heartfelt tributes for the pop sensation who tragically died at the age of 31 on October 16 after a fatal balcony fall in Argentina, has been respectfully shifted from the city centre to accommodate the Remembrance Sunday parade.

"Ahead of Sunday and Monday’s Remembrance services at the Cenotaph, the council has respectfully relocated the tributes left in memory of Liam Payne to the bandstand at West Park," declared the City of Wolverhampton Council on Twitter/X. They went on to encourage the public, saying, "People are welcome to leave any tributes to Liam at the memorial at the bandstand."

The relocation of the fan memorial comes as three people have been charged in connection with the late singer's tragic death at the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, last month. The public prosecutor’s office in the country said on Thursday that three people had been charged with "abandonment of a person followed by death" and supply and facilitation of narcotics in connection with the death of Liam.

According to a translation of the statement, prosecutors said "exhaustive and meticulous measures were taken to clarify the circumstances" around the Strip That Down singer’s death. The statement said: "Based on the evidence gathered and after analysing the various bodies of proceedings and numerous documentary annexes and the background of the case, prosecutor Andres Esteban Madrea formally charged three people, requesting their questioning and arrest in a 180-page ruling presented last Friday to Judge Bruniard."

Prosecutors said one of the individuals was accompanying the singer on a daily basis in Argentina and stands accused of abandonment of a person followed by death, which could carry a sentence of up to 15 years. Another was an employee at the hotel where Liam was staying. The third person allegedly supplied drugs.

The musician’s body was handed over to his father Geoff Payne last weekend, according to the statement. Geoff travelled to Argentina shortly after his son's death and remained in the country until this week. A post-mortem examination said Liam died from multiple injuries as well as internal and external bleeding caused by the fall. His body was found in the hotel’s internal courtyard.
