Liam Payne's body has finally touched down in the UK.

Weeks after the former One Direction star met his untimely death last month after a tragic fall from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. His devastated father Geoff Payne had to endure an agonising wait in the South American nation before he could repatriate his son's remains.

Geoff Payne returned to British soil with his son yesterday [6 November] landing at London Heathrow at 7:49am today [7 November]. Fans tracked the flight, which made it the most monitored aircraft globally.

"When Geoff Payne reached Argentina on October 18 he was told the repatriation process could take between four and five days, but because of the circumstances surrounding his son's death things took longer than expected."
