Liam Payne's Father Joins Fans Outside Hotel Where He Died For Emotional Moment Of Silence

Liam Payne‘s father Geoff Payne went to visit the site where he tragically passed away.

On Friday, Geoff was seen arriving at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, where fans have gathered to pay their respects to the late One Direction star following his death on Wednesday. According to TMZ, the singer’s dad could be seen taking a look at the memorial fans created on the sidewalk in front of the hotel, which included lots of flowers, letters, and candles. The crowd also observed a moment of silence for the 31-year-old. Such a poignant moment for them all, we’re sure.

Per the BBC, Geoff also spoke with a few of the fans gathered in the area and thanked them for their support. Whoa.

According to Argentine authorities via the AP, before arriving at the hotel, Geoff went to the city morgue to identify his son’s body and stopped by the local prosecutor’s office, which is investigating the death, to arrange the return of Liam’s remains to his home country. He then went to the hotel to collect his son’s things. Oof. That must have been so, so tough.

Our hearts go out to Geoff and all of Liam’s family members, friends, and loved ones. We hope, at the very least, that seeing how beloved the Teardrops artist was gives Geoff some comfort as he continues to grieve this devastating loss. R.I.P.
