Like a Dragon developer RGG Studio is an absolute powerhouse of a studio, capable of pumping out high-quality games at a yearly pace with very few gaps or breaks. We already know about the next Like a Dragon game, Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, which is set to be released in February 2025, but now the studio has announced two brand-new projects at The Game Awards.
The first is a brand-new Virtua Fighter game, and we don't know too much about this one. It's the latest in a long-running fighting game series, and RGG was the clear choice after it was previously announced the studio was remastering Virtua Fighter 5. We don't have a name or a release date, but more information will be announced later tonight.
The other game is much more interesting. RGG Studio is calling it Project Century, and it's set in 1915, seemingly in Japan. The game has some immaculate vibes, with strong, moody lighting, very Like a Dragon-ish character design, and fast, flashy combat that looks like a huge step up from other games from RGG.
At this stage, that's about all we know about Project Century — it could very well be set in the universe of Like a Dragon, like some other historical games from the studio, but it's impossible to say until we get more info.
Neither game has a release date, an official name, or even platforms announced just yet, but we'll be keeping a very close eye on Sega and RGG's socials for more.
