Spotify is making music discovery easier and more seamless than ever for Instagram and TikTok users. Imagine coming across a song in an Instagram reel or a TikTok video that you instantly fall in love with, and instead of having to search for it later, you can save it directly to your Spotify Library with just a tap. With Spotify’s new integrations, you can do exactly that.
Save Songs from Instagram to Spotify
Spotify’s new integration with Instagram allows users to save songs directly from Instagram stories, reels, or posts to their Spotify Library. We covered it in the beta phase earlier this year but now it is rolling out globally for both Android and iOS users, so make sure to update your Instagram and Spotify apps to the latest versions. Here’s how to use it:
- When you encounter a song on Instagram, tap it to access its audio page.
- On that page, you’ll see an Add button featuring the Spotify logo. Tap it.
- The first time you do this, you’ll be prompted to link your Spotify account. After that, adding songs becomes a simple one-tap process.
- The song will be saved directly to your Liked Songs playlist in Spotify’s Library.
Currently, once you have connected your Spotify and Instagram accounts, there is no option to disconnect or change the linked Spotify account. If you need to switch accounts, you may have to wait for future updates from Spotify or Instagram.

Save Songs from TikTok to Spotify
Spotify has introduced the same feature for TikTok. Initially launched in November 2023 for users in the U.S. and U.K., it has now expanded to 175 countries on both Android and iOS. Here’s how to save TikTok tracks on Spotify:
- While viewing a TikTok video, tap the song to open its audio page.
- Select Spotify to set it as your default music service and tap on Add to Spotify.
- The first time you use this feature, you’ll need to link your Spotify account to TikTok. After that, adding songs becomes a simple one-tap process.
- The song will be saved directly to your Liked Songs playlist in Spotify’s Library.
Share Songs on TikTok and Instagram
In addition to saving songs, Spotify also allows users to share their favorite songs, podcasts, and audiobooks directly to TikTok messages and posts. Previously, this functionality was only available to Instagram users, but now users can share to TikTok as well, expanding the social media platforms where you can share the music you love.
