Lil Baby has seen the jokes about his friendship with Michael Rubin, and he isn't laughing.
Ahead of the release of his upcoming fourth album, WHAM (Who Hard as Me), the Atlanta rapper made a visit to Lil Yachty's A Safe Place podcast, where he responded to online jokes about a photo of him and Rubin, in which the Fanatics boss is seen grabbing him from behind.
"Even the whole Mike Rubin thing," Lil Baby said at the 45-minute mark of the video below. "Bruh, “I don’t play with n****s, period. On no funny weird shit. … Mike happy to see me, he run up on me. I got 10 other pictures. I’m telling his ass, Mike, I’ll slam your ass on your neck. I’ll break your neck in this bitch. … But we play like that."
He continued, "They white, so they don’t really understand. Even before the picture came out, before it went viral, I told Mike, 'I can’t have pictures like that, even though me and you playing.' It’s 100 people at the party. We in the middle of 100 people. There’s nothing weird we could be doing at the party with all these people watching us. But I know how small people’s brains is and I be knowing how much people want to say something bad to me."
The "Band4Band" artist said that after the pictures circulated online, he asked Rubin to look at his security camera and obtain footage of the time they spent together to prove that nothing happened. "I ain’t even gonna post that on the internet, I'm just like, 'fuck that shit.' ... But some shit, all that type shit, that really bothered me."
Rubin addressed the photos on an August 14 episode of The Breakfast Club, where, around the 15-minute mark, he said that "no one's a bigger hugger" than him and that the jokes were "pathetic."
"Let's keep this real; the amount of people who I've ... in a 13-hour drunken party that I've jumped on their back and someone's caught a picture is... I've done that a thousand times," he added.
