Linda Lusardi has revealed the results of her non-surgical facelift, which she claims has taken a decade off her appearance.
The 66-year-old former glamour model, who rose to fame in the 80s, had been feeling down about her looks, particularly the loose skin on her neck, jowls, and deepening lines around her eyes.
Linda explained: "As I was approaching my 66th birthday I started to feel my face was looking tired and old looking. So when I'd wake up in the morning I would see that my face was sagging. It's a family trait to get these "chollers", that's what we call them, the jowly bits of fatty skin hanging down from the jawline. My mum and grandmother both suffered from them around this area."
She added: "So I could see my jawline softening and I was getting more lines around my eyes and it was just a bit depressing really, and I just thought I needed to get something to make my skin look fresher and brighter. Ageing is a process that we all go through but if you can hold it back and have it look natural, then why not?"
At a clinic just a stone's throw from the celebrated Harley Street in London, Dr Johanna Ward is performing non-surgical procedures that offer patients a new lease on youth. These treatments produce a thermal effect within the skin's layers, stimulating the body's natural production of collagen and elastin, reports the Mirror.
The process involves using super-heated nitrogen gas, aimed at reviving the skin internally to achieve a completely natural appearance.
Thrilled by the outcomes, Linda, who sought these NeoGen rejuvenation treatments as self-care for her 66th birthday, remarked: "I had these NeoGen treatments as a bit of a treat for myself because I was coming up to my 66th birthday. I was excited about getting my pension but not about being 66. I honestly don't feel 66 inside, and I wanted my skin to match as well. After having the NeoGen treatments I don't think most people would think I look 66, I don't know what I'd get away with but I think it's taken about 10 years off me."
Elaborating on the science behind the procedures, Dr Ward explains: "The NeoGen treatment effectively tricks your skin into boosting levels of collagen and elastin, two of the main structural proteins in your connective tissues that stop our skin from sagging and gives us that plump, youthful look.
"Collagen levels start to decline in late 20s and early 30s, and then drop significantly after 40 and especially during menopause. But levels of collagen can be boosted with NeoGen treatments which create relatively pain-free trauma within the dermis which triggers your body to repair itself with high concentrations of collagen and elastin.
"We have provided six monthly low-energy NeoGen treatments for Linda this year to continue to boost her collagen levels and have achieved a truly astounding result. We will now look to do quarterly top up sessions to keep the skin rejuvenated."
Linda was amazed by the dramatic change in her appearance after undergoing the NeoGen treatments. She said: "When I saw my before and after pictures I couldn't quite believe it. I didn't realise quite how bad I was just six months ago.
"It's incredible my whole face feels lifted and tightened, my skin has more plumpness to it, it's just got a better complexion completely. I feel it's taken years off me and several people have commented saying 'how old are you? ' and they just don't believe I'm 66."
She went on to say: "I feel that it's given me a freshness, but subtly, and in a natural way. It's basically tricking nature into repairing itself, we lose collagen in our skin from such an early age, and especially after the menopause, and I'll well past that, so mine was down to about 10% of what it used to be in my early 20s by now.
"So I was going to get lines and wrinkles and I was getting sagging and my skin was losing its elasticity - and the NeoGen has helped reverse all of that ageing process naturally."
Linda also took Tenplus electrolyte sachets to boost skin hydration before and after treatments, as well as G Herbal SKIN supplements, which are rich in Centella Asiatica and turmeric, and a ZENii antioxidant serum and collagen drink, to enhance the results from the treatments.
She confessed she has a low pain threshold, so she was delighted when the treatment didn't cause discomfort and didn't require her to take time off work.
Pictured at her home in north London, Linda said: "A lot of people have asked me, 'Is it painful? ' But if you've had the numbing cream on beforehand then, it's between a 3 and a 6 out of ten, it's really no more painful than having your eyebrows plucked. I had low energy treatments, at around 0.8 Joules, and the downtime was about 3 or 4 days.
"On a couple of occasions I've come back on the underground after the treatment and had a few looks from people because I did look a bit red, it just looks a bit like sunburn. By the next day the redness has settled down but in places where you've got pigmentation, you might get a bit of crusting and drying, and those bits peeling off, but really after four days to a week you are looking back to normal, but your skin will look so much better even after just one treatment.
"My friends and family noticed after just one treatment, and I hadn't told them I was having NeoGen, it was quite unbelievable. I've now had the full six, and my skin is like a different person, it's so tight and so plump."
Dr Ward also pointed out that results can vary for patients. She said: "Some clients choose to have higher energy and they generally get their skin rejuvenation results quicker, but there is greater down-time post treatment, sometimes up to 10 days. Linda's busy work life meant that was not an option for her, so she chose the "slow and low" option. With low energy you will generally start to see a noticeable difference after a couple of treatments, and major changes after three or four."
And highlighting the simplicity and speed of the procedure, she added: "The benefit of lower energy NeoGen treatments is that they have practically no downtime and many clients can cope with having them without using numbing cream. The treatments take about 45 minutes to do a full face, neck and top of the chest."

Linda underwent six low energy NeoGen Plasma treatments this year, with prices starting at £800 for a full face, neck and décolleté at Dr Ward's clinic. There are also packages available, such as three treatments for £2,150 and six for £3,850.
Linda expressed her satisfaction with the results, saying: "I intend to keep up having the NeoGen treatments for the next year. The results are completely off the chart and phenomenal so 100% I'm going to keep them up. I'm actually quite terrified at the thought of stopping having them."
