Love Island's Luca Bish didn't miss the chance to throw a bit of cheeky shade at his former flame Gemma Owen as he made his sizzling entrance on Love Island: All Stars. The 25-year-old, who shot to stardom in the 2022 series of the hit show where he coupled up with ex-beau Gemma, took a subtle dig as he reminisced over their romance.
The pair were runners-up in the fiery final, losing out to heavyweights Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu. Yet, it wasn't long after they ditched the villa life that the lovebirds went their separate ways – with Gemma delivering the lowdown to her fans in an emotional Insta story.
"To all my followers, I wanted to let you know that Luca and I are no longer in a relationship," she penned, adding "It wasn't an easy decision but ultimately this is what is best for us both right now. Many of you have been on this journey with us from the very beginning, and I want to thank you for your continued support as we start new chapters."
Fast-forward three years and as Luca jumps back into the reality TV pool, he couldn't help but rake up old coals mentioning his and Gemma's short-lived romance in his opening video, quipping: "My relationship with Gemma lasted three months. Too long."
He also spilled the tea to The Mirror before diving into the All Stars adventure, joking that if Gemma parachuted into the villa as a surprise bombshell, he'd be legging it for the exit, "I'd probably say I'm a Love Islander, get me out of here after watching I'm a Celebrity,” he bantered. "No, I'd back her all the way and just hope she has a better experience than last time," reports the Mirror.
And about any chance of a reunion, he quipped: "You can read a book twice, but the ending never changes, that's how I look at things like that. Sorry Gemma! " Despite his romance with Gemma not lasting, Luca did manage to find a lifelong mate in her ex, Jacques O'Neill, who left the villa early. Luca opened up: "When Jacques left, I definitely started to become a bit more cranky and not enjoy my experience as much, and it's probably taken me the last two years to realise how lucky I was to be in that villa," before admitting, "We still speak everyday.
"Not, not since they've taken my phone, but up until then we'd speak everyday. He's going back to rugby and I'm really proud that he's he's getting back to doing what he loves."
