Married At First Sight UK star Polly Sellman has revealed why she cannot forgive ex Adam Nightingale after their time together on the popular E4 show.
Polly, 28, appeared on the 2024 series of MAFS UK and was paired up with Adam, 33, after relationship experts Mel Schilling, Paul C Brunson, and Charlene Douglas, felt that they would make the perfect couple. However, Polly and Adam's marriage journey turned out to be far from straight-forward. So much so that they are now not on speaking terms one year after tying the knot.
Ahead of the MAFS UK reunion, which airs on Monday night on E4, Polly exclusively spoke to The Mirror about her decision to decline the offer to join her fellow co-stars several months after filming concluded. The flame-haired beauty also addressed her relationship with Adam, admitting that she doesn't see herself ever speaking to him again if he doesn't offer her a well-deserved apology.

Channel 4)"Myself and Adam really went on a journey. At the start, it was obvious that it was there for me and it wasn't for him. There wasn't a spark for him. However, we got on so well. We were literally like best mates. Most of the time, we got on way better than most of the other couples - but you just didn't see that in the edit. That was because we were genuinely best friends. We enjoyed being in each other's company and we enjoyed spending time together," Polly shared.
"So that's what make this whole situation such a shame. Even Adam had said that I'm the female version of him. He said that we were best friends and I think that's what helped us get to the point that we did and that's what helped us to always get back to being on track. When we looked at the foundation we had for a friendship and when we compared ourselves to the other couples, a lot of people struggled to find what we found straight away with one another. We just needed to work on the romantic side of things," she added.
Despite the strong friendship Polly and Adam cemented while on the show, things between them couldn't be any different one year on. When asked if she still speaks to Adam casually following their split, Polly admitted that she doesn't see herself reconnecting with her ex-husband anytime soon after she was left deeply hurt by his cruel comments.

Channel 4)"No, I haven't spoken to him since the last reunion. I don't see us ever being friends again, purely because there's a lot that he hasn't taken responsibility for. He hasn't taken any accountability for the fact he still thinks he doesn't owe me an apology after body-shaming me and bringing up our sex life on national television," she said.
Polly then revealed that after the conversation between her and Adam about their sex life, they slept together. "Bearing in mind that after that conversation, we did sleep together. The fact that he thinks that there's nothing that he's done wrong warrants an apology, just no. But, if he apologises and if he came to me and said that he was sorry for the things that he did and said, then the door would still be locked for me, but I'd throw in a key to a possible friendship maybe. Until that day, it's a no, because I've said sorry for a lot more than I should have apologised for and it still blows my mind that he thinks he doesn't owe me an apology for some of the horrible stuff he has said."
Polly, who will not appear in the lastest reunion after deciding to opt out last minute for her mental wellbeing, also discussed her thoughts on Adam's relationship with co-star Amy Kenyon, 28, after the pair have sparked rumours that they're more than friends since the show ended. While on the show, Adam made his attraction to Amy obvious, and when partner-swap week came around, it was a triggering time for Polly due to the fact Adam and Amy were paired up with one another.

However, Polly isn't convinced. "I now 100% believe that they are together. If I'm wrong, them I'm wrong, but there is no way that they can be how they've been together and spend as much time as they have been together and going off on these holidays and always being on TikTok live together while in bed together - I think Stevie Wonder could see what's going on there," she quipped. "I'm not an idiot. I think everyone knows what's going on there and maybe they're trying to long it out to try and stay relevant."
Thankfully, Adam and Amy's close bond doesn't affect Polly now after she was able to get over their flirtatious ways ' a very long time ago'. "I'm over it now. I was able to get over it a very long time ago. I think because I actually took a step back and looked at the position I was in, I was able to compartmentalise. We knew each other for twelve weeks and ultimately, you don't owe anyone anything after that amount of time. Just because you think you know someone, you do not know anyone in three months. I came away from that and I looked at them as individuals and even I felt as though they were both probably better suited in comparison to how myself and Adam were suited.

I've worked on myself since the show and I've got the help that I needed and have spoken to people to get the answers as to why I acted like that on the show. I have grown up a lot and have worked on myself so much."
Addressing why she chose not to go to the latest reunion, Polly admitted that it was a mix between spending time with her family, looking after her mental wellbeing, and not throwing herself back into a situation that would trigger her that ultimately stopped her from attending. "If I had of decided to go to the reunion, I know I would have just been triggered by questions about Amy and Adam. It would have been like waving a red flag in front of a bull. So that's another reason why I decided not to go. I would have been sitting opposite these two people who have denied for so long that there is chemistry between them. They would have been flirting right in front of my face and answering really derogatory and mean questions in front of me," she said.
Polly has ditched the UK following her rocky stint on the reality show. The reality TV star has embarked on a completely fresh start as she is focusing on investing in herself by ditching the UK for sunny Australia. She has also lost a staggering four stone since appearing on the show.
